Assembly vs. Molded Construction
Patch cords are finished using one of two methods: assembly type or molded type. In the assembly type, the boot and cable are separate components, with no plastic injection at the stripped end of the cable jacket. The molded type, on the other hand, integrates the boot directly into the cable, providing superior strain relief and durability.
For our Cat 5e patch cords, we use the molded type only. This design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s engineered for durability. The molded boot is built into the plug to withstand everyday pulls and twists, ensuring reliability over extended use.
Available in various lengths and colors, these cords are designed to seamlessly fit your setup while meeting industry standards like ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and ISO/IEC 11801 for compatibility and performance.
