Boot
Coated/Embedded
RJ-45 Plug boots relieve cable strain and guard against the plug's latch from snagging or breaking.
In essence, there are two types of boot designs – “Coated” and “Embedded”.
Coated type:
The “Coated type” boot coats the RJ-45 plug body and covers the latch. Friction between the cord and the plug is greatly increased by the surrounding structure. The flexible cone tail enforces the proper bending radius to further prevent signal reflections.
Embedded type:
The size of the “Embedded type” boot matches the plug precisely. When completely populated in a high-density equipment or patch panel, the slim figures prevent interference between one port and the other. Two paws from the boot are inserted within the stopper, providing effective strain relief from tugging.
Works with both UTP and STP Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 6A cables. Accepts cables with a diameter ranging from 4.0mm to 8.0 mm.
