Industrial Ethernet
M12 and IP68 Series
Rugged Connectivity in Harsh Environments
As industries move toward more automated and connected operations, robust “Industrial Ethernet” plays a critical role. Unlike standard Ethernet used in office environments, Industrial Ethernet must withstand harsh conditions, including extreme temperatures, vibrations, dust, and water exposure. These networks are crucial for connecting various industrial systems, such as factory machines, sensors, and robots, ensuring seamless communication in demanding environments.
The M12 Connector: Built for Toughness
When it comes to Industrial Ethernet, the M12 connector is an industry standard for secure and reliable data transmission in challenging conditions. The M12 connector is compact yet rugged, designed to provide a reliable connection in environments where moisture, dust, and mechanical stress could disrupt other types of connectors. Its circular design is particularly advantageous for preventing accidental disconnections and handling vibrations common in industrial settings.
M12 connectors come in various coding options (like A, B, D, and X-coded) that support different protocols, including Ethernet, Profinet, and DeviceNet. This versatility ensures the M12 can handle the increasing data rates required by modern industrial applications.
We feature only M12 X-coded connectors on our website, as they are the only ones capable of supporting 10G Ethernet. However, if you require A-coded, B-coded, or D-coded connectors, feel free to send us an inquiry detailing your needs—we’ve got you covered.
IP 68: Unmatched Protection Against Dust and Water
To ensure optimal performance in harsh environments, M12 and RJ45 connectors are often paired with IP-68-rated protection. The IP-68 standard means a device is fully protected against dust (indicated by the "6") and can withstand continuous immersion in water beyond 1 meter in depth (indicated by the "8"), under conditions specified by the manufacturer. This level of protection makes IP-68 connectors ideal for industries like manufacturing, food and beverage processing, and transportation, where exposure to liquids and dust is a constant threat.
